Navigating Real Estate Transactions
Why professional real estate agents can make all the difference in your journey towards a new home.

Navigating the process by which real estate is bought and sold is much like navigating a boat across the ocean. While you can stand in the harbor and discuss the conditions, you never really know what you are going to face until you are out there. For this reason, such trips are often made by professional captains who have years of experience which provides them the objectivity, resources and skills to complete the journey. In real estate, the same is true for professional real estate agents when getting you into a home, or getting your home sold.

The emotional aspects of buying or selling a home are a big part of what can make this process so difficult. Maintaining an objective opinion is key to getting the right property and/or the right price. Agents can remain objective more easily while assessing your buying power, assisting in property selection, performing due diligence, marketing your property, and evaluating proposals. This is especially important to out of town buyers, who need a local agent to act on their behalf while keeping their best interest in mind.

Professional real estate agents also have access to resources which the average owner or potential purchaser does not. These can include search tools for special deals, up-to-date market information, access to trusted brokers, and a close community of contacts through which to market your property. These resources account for the many for-sale-by-owner (FSBO) properties which stagnate and linger on the market for months or even a year.

The art of the real estate transaction is nothing without the skills that drive it. Good agents have had years of experience: negotiating, reviewing financing options, and navigating the closing process. These specialized skills are a large part of what you are paying for when hiring a real estate agent. In this way, agents can help you getter understand the terms of sale and mortgage contracts, and can help ensure you are getting the best deal possible.

Just as you would not sail across the ocean without a captain, a compass, and the know how to do it; you should not attempt a real estate transaction without the right assistance. Quality real estate agents are highly skilled, trained professionals available to help you complete your journey toward or away from a new home.  Even with the costs, having these skills on your side can and will make a big difference in the sale price, contract terms, and the overall experience of buying or selling your home.

If you need immediate assistance with a sale or rental transaction, Condo.com has a team of condo specialists which are licensed real estate professionals that can assist you with all of your condo needs. Please call 305-476-2060 to speak with a live condo specialist today.
