Vanilla Ice, famous in the 1990s for his rap repertoire including “Ice, Ice Baby,” has found another career -- transforming nearly destroyed homes into stunning properties. The artist, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, is host and head construction guru of “The Vanilla Ice Project,” a do-it-yourself type of home improvement series on DIY Network. The series is in its second year and began Jan. 21.
This season, the 13-episode show will have Vanilla Ice, 44, and his contractor crew remodeling a 7,000-square-foot
Wellington mansion near
Miami. The longtime Miami resident and pop icon says he has bought and sold numerous homes over the years, many of which were in Florida, and has made a lot of money renovating and selling them.
