The luxury real estate market in Vietnam is heating up and luring foreign buyers with lavish condos known as “sky mansions” at a fraction of what their cost would be in Hong Kong according to Business Insider.

Bloomberg reports that Vietnam is the next luxury hotspot. An explosion of new luxury developments spurred along by a strong economy and legislation making it easier for foreigners to buy property has many wealthy international buyers flocking to Vietnam. These exclusive condos in Ho Chi Minh City on “Saigon’s Wall Street” cost a mere fraction of what they would be in New York City or Hong Kong.

Goodwin Gow, chairman of a Hong Kong-based private equity firm, told Bloomberg that “Vietnam is where southern China was 10 or 15 years ago.” Although prices for real estate in Ho Chi Minh City have risen 17% in 2018, real estate is still a good investment over the long term. A luxury condo can cost $465 per square foot compared with $1774 in Manhattan. Hong Kong is 4 times that!
