Over-rated and Under-delivered Condominiums

This building is sold as a dog friendly, high-end, luxury building and it is anything but. It's only claim to fame is it's location on the river with it's view. It is located on top of the train tracks and it is incredibly noisy inside with all the train noise of screeching wheels, horn blasting and train alarms. Not to mention the noise from the elevated trains crossing the nearby bridges and the construction next door. The builders used cheap elevator mechanics when they built this building and so the elevators are always breaking down and needing to be fixed. The inside decor is dated and they recently did an inexpensive revamp of the the lobby and were suppose to repaint the resident hallways but it has been a year and nothing has been done yet so there is old, dirty, brown and cream walls with cheap, new, blue carpet. They call themselves "dog friendly" but dogs are only allowed to use the freight elevator, which is also used by maintenance and service crew and delivery crew etc so the wait to leave and enter is always long, inconvenient and often chaotic. The building manager sits in his office all day and doesn't participate in the actual managing of the staff and it shows since the staff are all too laid back and lazy and too unprofessional to be touted as a Luxury condominium. It often takes days for them to respond to an issue if they even respond at all. Often time, you need to bring an issue to their attention more than once in order to get a resolution. I have also witnessed the staff talking and complaining about residents behind their backs while I have been waiting in the lobby. The residents in the building are mostly older retirees. Renter's have no representation in the building and you are noticeably treated differently than those who own by the staff and management. The weight room is considerably large but residents do not respect the environment and so it is often a war zone and you have to climb over and through the equipment and discarded towels. There is a large jacuzzi that has a constant ring of film around it and a steam room that always smells of mold. Condo units can be gorgeous but the rest of the building falls short. It lacks a professional staff, modern decor, a quiet home environment and a respectful community of neighbors.
