    Condo's not worth it

    This condos are not worth the price. If you like being close to the beach they are awesome, however if you like windows that you have to be covered with plastic in the winter time, patio's that flood, garages that were built in the 70's and will not accomidate a newer suv, truck or keep anything dry then this is for you. In the townhouses you have to run the water in the kitchen for a long period of time to get hot water. The windows are so old that your heating bill is gonna be really high. My average heating bill was 450 in the winter, not to leave out the ac in the summer average bill was 500+. You can feel the wind coming through the windows and watch the curtains or blinds move. The door frames around the back slider is rotten and falling apart. Being a condo you cant fix any of this. As for the Amenities yes the beach is close and there is a pool and tennis court. This is the reason for 2 stars. The community is not great, a few nice people but mostly people that like to complain. example..... complaints about guest visiting and parking in driveways, not in parking spaces but acutal driveways, one board member has made it his duty to police the complex. He actually went into someones driveway to tell an owner that was leaving that his music was to loud in his car. It was 7pm. Others are just as bad. Its almost like these people are stuck in the 70's which by the way was when these condos were built and no upgrades done. I know in every community you will have busy bodies but really this is worse than most. It is like a retirement home where no one has a life. I have tried to get the board to realize that some of the rules are just so old and outdated that they may not be legal any longer. So the jest of this is if you want to retire and live where everyone is in your business, have an old condo that has lots of issues, and live next to the beach then this is the place for you.

    The tennis courts have been unusable for years. The Barberino Management company refuses to fix them and immediately locked the gate to the area that has been used for dogs to run around when the topic came up at a meeting. The pool was closed in 2020 because of a need for repairs, which were done. But the Pool was closed all of 2020 due to COVID. In 2021 the Barberino group has issued a legal document to all owners giving all pool users responsibility for any lawsuits that may occur from use of the pool and, particularly, protecting the HS Board from any liability. Each member of the Board is required to have liability insurance through Bouviea Insurane manager Carrie Mott. The ground s are "spot" mowed every 2nd or 3rd week, when trees are removed, for no good reason, the stumps are left above ground making it impossible to replace the tree. All unit owners are encouraged to maintain gardens in front and in back of their units because "there is no money for this maintenance." The elevators in the two midsize buildings need to be replaced and all unit owners, including townhouse owners, have been given a 2-year assessment of $1,800.00 for 2020 and 2021 even though the Board has not put out Bids or received a contract to tell us the cost of the project. They intend to do the work without moving the residents , many of which are seniors and will be without power for whenever the project takes place either in the summer or winter. At a Zoom meeting the attendees were muted and not allowed to ask questions or make comments.
