    Considering the high condo fees, ranging from approx $700 - $957/ mo. -- the Gates at Westfalls condo complex does not have any amenities. The only thing that's free of charge is water/ trash. There's no pool, gym, or even a front desk management office onsite.

    Handsome brick-walled community very close to WFC Metro

    As an original owner (since 1994) I have enjoyed and been very pleased with living here. Walk to Metro in 10-12 minutes, walking distance from a Giant food and other shops and a handful of good (not great) restaurants. All resident parking is indoors on the first level, clicker required for access - second and third levels are residential, six floor plans. Noise levels are very low compared with most rental apartments, especially on the 'forest' side rather than the Haycock Road side of the property. One of the great things is that the landscaping has been carefully planned, and is professionally maintained (by McFall & Berry), including a fountain at the entrance. A new wooded area has been opened up to the SW for general recreation. New roofs were installed on all buildings just this year (2012). As there are nine buildings, maintenance costs are more than a single high-rise would experience - it's your call whether the merits of this community are worth the price. Amenities: none, so no dip in the pool or freeweight reps. If you're considering buying, you should understand that one entire building and parts of two others are in Falls Church, the remainder in Fairfax County - this makes a difference in which schools your kids can attend, taxes (higher in the City at this time), government services available to you, etc. The management company (Cardinal) is competent and attentive.<br/>
