Disclaimer
Management is terrible
The HOA board probably needs to be revamped. Since the pool area was vandalized, instead of getting cameras which would cost close to nothing or hiring a security company, they lock the pool/spa down nightly at 9:00 p.m. No exceptions. Kids swim with their parents until 9:00 p.m., and there is no adult time in the pool or spa since it closes so early. The pool and pool area is kept clean.

Last year I got into an argument with the HOA president, Robert, about the light that stays on all night, with no controls and no way to shut it off. As there is a sliding glass door in my bedroom, it wasn't feasible for me to have a light on all night on my front porch - and the lights they put in are really bright. I tried everything to block out the light with no luck. I walked around the complex, and many people do not have their porch lights on. They took the bulbs out of their lights just as I did. I had taken them out several times, only to find Robert with his side kick, Sam, who walks around smoking all night and "watching" the area, on my front porch yet once again, putting the bulb in. When I told him the issue, he said it had to be in as it was a hazard that no one could see the sidewalk in front of my condo. I ask him why they couldn't install a light on the outside of the building, like the others, and was told that it was too much wiring and work. I refused the light bulb. Sam reminded me that I own nothing outside of my front door - not even my porch. If that is true, I wonder why they don't keep the leaves off and power wash it every spring.

This fall, I put up Halloween lights, like I do every year, for a little bit of holiday cheer. Within one week, I had a letter stating that it would be a $100 fine daily if the lights were not removed, and that lights and decorations were only permitted during Christmas from November 23 to January 2nd. I haven't been around the complex to see if anyone else has lights up, but eventually will. It's starting to feel a little personal and demeaning. I feel bullied. So, don't get on Robert or Sam's bad side.

Community would get more stars if there was any sense of it. Though no dogs are allowed over 30-35 lbs, there are a lot of dogs over 60lbs, and "management" doesn't patrol for dog poo.

So, if you can tolerate the HOA in this place, it's an okay place to live, given the location.
