Parliament House Condo Association Ignores Residents Again

Shame on the Parliament House Condo Association board for not providing condo owners with contractor bids or choice of colors, carpet & lighting before starting construction on hallways!
Warning to all future homeowners! Parliament House Condo of Pompano Beach has once again assessed residence $2,000 for hallway construction project without providing contractor bids to residents when asked! Im a condo owner that takes pride in the community and doesnt mind paying for community improvements as long as there done in a transparent manor. I also understand that everyone isnt going to agree on decor.

Im a seasonal resident that attends all HOA meetings when in town. I have tried to speak up at these meetings but have always been cutoff and belittled for questing how our community is ran! I have gone out of my way to approach the board to provide all homeowners with an explanation why 1 contractor always gets all the renovation work. They have not been able to answer my questions so Im forced to voice my opinion publicly were it will be heard.

Being a reasonable person the only think I can think of is that the Parliament House Condo board is receiving kickbacks and stealing homeowners money!

Why else wouldnt the board be transparent and show homeowners all the bids before accepting residents to open their wallets to shell out $2,000 in a forced assessment?

The Parliament House Association sends me all kinds of notices and posts all kind of nonsense all over the building but when they are asked to explain how they are spending owners money they cannot provide contractors bids?

    nice location HORRIBLE HOA BOARD

Very nice location, however even the recent building upgrades are dated. The new interiors look at though they were chosen by blind and senile designers. However, the worst thing about this property is not the antiquated decor but the rude and nasty board of directors, particularly a shrew named Susan. She screams at the staff and the tenants. She is nasty to deal with and everybody in the building hates her. Not sure why she is so rude, bitter and unprofessional but she is in the wrong profession. She might be better suited working somewhere where she doesn't talk to anybody and where nobody has to look at the ugly scowl which is constantly on her dried up face. This is a woman whose own family probably doesn't like her. There are comparable buildings in the area who employ nicer people. The rest of the board isn't much better. Don't waste good money here, you will regret it almost immediately. Run, don't walk, away from this place.

    Is run terrible

The Building doesn't have a Professional Management. The whole Building is run by the Board who caters to a small group.

    A current review 5/2019

Don't know why this would be the first positive review but this promotional sales sight deserves at the very least an update and from a long term resident. The boards' mismanagement previously highlighted in prior comments has long since been dismembered- out with the old and in with the new- and more importantly, along with a new board, we are now in the rightful hands of a professional management team. Due to this, along with seeing many interior and exterior improvements, it's bringing a new energy and positive outlook. Property management companies are far more equipped in running a large enterprise that is financially dependent upon by the proper disbursements of funds, along with facilitating and overseeing condo rules and regulations, including but not limited to rentals, voted by the owners. Very long overdue.

Our building is in one of the primary spots of what is becoming a very popular destination. Our beaches and local areas have been in a non-stop revitalization stage for a few years now and since increased the influx of interest and visitors to this area.

I do hope people who review this sight follow this up with media feeds about the area and do their own research regarding the current state of our building and it's management.

Make sure you can deal with large communities

We bought 6 yrs ago and loved it, we were snow birds. Once you start going to pool you meet alot of different personalities. Most are unhappy except a small group that basically runs the bldg. New ideas were always turned down and the gossip is out of hand. We spent alot of money to gut our apartment and loved it, worst mistake we have done financially. We made a few wonderful friends but the "click" makes the living there miserable. Just make sure you love community living. Many rules, alot of assessments, pool knotzies, and just nosey people. Best thing to do is stick to yourself and don't get involved. This bldg is located in an awesome spot, but area is alittle sketchy so be safe.

Terrible management, Old building with lots of issues

The only real plus is location. Not too fond of high rise living- and yes, far too many people have too much time on their hands and seem to sit in lobby and gossip all day long. Though had hopes about finally getting a management company in there to equalize things so to speak- I think it did more harm than good. We are too overstaffed to pay for, maintenance team is insufficient with too many limitations, one guy talks all day long and does nothing; office staff team changes every month never seen anything like this. Not sure if the beach view is worth all this. Hard to sell since so many are up for sale and so many can't pay the high assessment fees. Assessments are in the thousands due to prior mismanagement from board members (shameful, how some can show their face in the building is pretty nervy). If you are going to buy-- buy newer, check out the management team and avoid all board member management.
