    Not a Good Place to Live

    The Regent at Town Center is a poorly managed apartment/condo complex. The office staff is extremely inept. Management quite often issues new policies which may or may not have been part of your original lease terms and may or may not be enforced. Additionally, it�s very difficult to get maintenance done. Most complexes allow you to call and schedule maintenance; at the Regent, you have to submit a written request. What then, is one supposed to do if there is a time-sensitive maintenance need (for example, refrigerator malfunction, water leak, air-conditioning failure)? The complex does not complete maintenance in a timely manner and does not effectively communicate with tenants regarding their maintenance needs. During the 18 months I was there, I had two separate leaks in my ceiling and getting them fixed proved to be very difficult. The pool area is not maintained and was once shut down by the health department. Although this is currently not the case, a convicted rapist did once reside in the complex. A good website to check prior to a move is http://www.familywatchdog.us/; it�s always good to know who your neighbors are. The Regent at Town Center is in a very nice area of town and is a nice looking complex, but please don�t be deceived. Despite the saying (�Location, location, location..�), there are other factors to consider. The nice location is not worth it. There nicer apartments in just as nice locations. Avoid the Regent at Town Center.

    DO NOT RENT OR BUY ANY PROPERTY UNDER THIS HOA!!!!!

    These are individually owned units, which means there is no "manager" on premise. Just a woman who represents the HOA. Her name is Ophelia. She lives in the units herself and plays favorites with the tenants that live here. My personal experiences include: Having my upstairs neighbor leaking water in to my apartment for months, she did nothing, called her boss, her boss did nothing. My landlord had to eventually threaten lawsuit to get matters resolved. Or how about having an abandon car in guest parking for 6+ months with expired tags and all, she does nothing. Or how about having a neighbor with countless noise complaints that go undocumented to the point I now have to call metro when it happens, because again, she does nothing. It seems the only time l've ever seen her enforce any by-laws of the HOA was when she was flagging my vehicle because I was selling it and my plates were expired. The HOA does absolutely nothing. What's the incentive for the favoritism. Why are some cases treated differently than others. In 4 years Ophelia has been little to no help. The HOA hasn't returned countless phone calls or emails about the issues, to where you just want to give up. When conversations happen in person she is defensive and stand off ish and things easily escalate. She says things like "it's sound like your telling me I don't do my job". If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck.... Any way hope this help future tenants.
