    Beautiful Building in Great Location

    I was recently in the market for an investment property. The Bond was a beautiful building next to the Bay and it had a lot of amenities such as a concierge, dog park, and well-maintained courtyard. It also had a great walk score being near numerous restaurants, the Ferry, Amtrak and Bart. While everything looked great on the surface, I've learned from past experience to look into an HOA's financials. My first home was a condo and it was a financial disaster! The Board had mismanaged the finances which caused the dues to continuously increase year after year along with issuing a special assessment. This time I wanted to make sure I understood exactly what I might be buying into. Turns out it's very hard to find any financial data beyond the monthly HOA dues on sites like Zillow. I found a website that had done a financial analysis of the Bond's HOA. It allowed me to confirm that the HOA finances appeared to be in good shape.
