Oasis Managment Sucks

I'm not a person that complains at all, but the Oasis tower 2 deserves a big FU from its tenants. There is not adequate parking, now that they have almost 100% occupancy and if you happen to have more than one vehicle then the other driver in your household will have to hoof it 200 yards to their car. When season came this year they didn't know how to handle the extra cars so they decided to tow the extra cars when there wasn't adequate signage stating no parking. No response from management to my inquiry. They suck.

    THINK TWICE!!!!

I never write reviews, but I feel very strongly about this. I'm not rating an app or a recipe but a place to live. Please think twice about making the decision to lease or buy in this property. I have leased here 2.5 years and have had CONSTANT maintence issues with the AC in our unit. There are constant maintenance issues throught out the property. From the front door at Tower Two being out of service to the elevators going out at the same time, (a big deal when one of two elevators is being used for constant move in's and out's and the other breaks down). Our power has been going out on a regular basis as well. The excuse from management;" The building is at 98% occupancy and issues are to be expected" As I right this review all the residentsin Tower Two are without AC. Oh and the power just went out!! Parking is another big issue. There is not enough parking for residents let alone any guests. There are security issues as well. Mutltiple vehicle break-ins and thefts of bicycles have occured inside the parking garage over the past year. The property is not in a good neighborhood. On to the ammenities. The pool furniture is in disrepair and is absolutely disgusting. The cabanas?? look nice from a distance but when you get up close you would sit on one let alone lie on the filthy mattress. No where near the standards of a "luxury waterfront community" as they would have one believe. Now to the management. If you lease you not only have the "association management" but also the unit landlord which is a separate company. They both do an absolutely poor job of managing this property. I constantly bring to their attention issues that need to be addressed and I always get the same "cookie cutter" response with a fake smile. They employ idiots at the front desk. On multiple occasions I have had packages sit there for days because they never informed me that they signed for them and were waitng to be picked up. I could go on and on but the lesson, which I learned the hard way, that things may look beautiful and wonderful on the surface at a distance but up close you can see the major issues. Some people believe whats written in a review and others may not but if you are looking at leasing or buying (thank god I didn't buy. I can leave in a few months scott free) in this community please look closely at things when your on the tour. Ask the tough questions, ask to see any records that may be open to public viewing (police records) about crime statistics and calls for police service at this community. There are things management does not tell the residents. And lastly, talk to some residents if you can and ask them their honest opinion. I would be happy to talk with a prospective resident and give them the real story.

    Great Place to Live

After reading all of the negative reviews, I felt compelled to write a review and to clarify a few things. First of all, I own a unit in Tower 1. This building is owned by a different company than Tower 2. Most of the occupants in Tower 2 are renters. The majority of the residents of Tower 1 are owners. I have never had a problem with any thing in my condo. The neighbors are nice. We all seem to have the same thing in common. We got a good deal. A building of this calibre will not be built again for years because of the economy. The view is spectacular and the location is great. This is not our full-time home; however, I find I'm spending more and more time there. It is a great place to live.

New owners - new attitude - I rate this place Five Stars

First a disclosure: I am a real estate broker and sell many condos at Oasis and at least two of our agents live at Oasis. But keep in mind there are two Towers. We are selling condos in the tower with owners, not renters. I will admit that over the years the project has had management problems - but those issues were confined, for the most part to the rentall Tower II and since Domus has taken over the improvmnets have been fantastic. The HVAC for eaxmple, is the owners responsibility - not management and ceratinly not the developer.. Late in 2012 Domus Group bought the remaining inventory of 73 homes and have been selling about one a week since then Why? Number e reason is price - from $200,000 to $399,000, most in the low 200's, the location - 1.4 miles from what is now a great downtown with shops restaurants and things to do.. Oasis - the attraction is really in its name.. Its east coast style and class, witin a heartbeat from downtown. Resort living with the amenites at your doorstep. The pool and amerites ( heated pool now by the way) are the best in town. Really. You may think I have a dog in this fight, but you can check, we sell more condos in Fort Myers than the next five agencies.. We sell Northstar, HighPoint, Beau Rivage, St Tropez and Riveriera - but more of Oasis than anywhere else.

I knew the president of the builder that Built Oasis - (BBL built it) Kevin Manning was the president then, i know what went into that project and how well it was built - I love the location, the price, then amenities and the views.

Just my thoughts.

Review from current and soon to be former tenant

I am currently living in one of the Oasis condos (Bldg 1). There are plenty of renters living in Bldg. 1, which is not a problem. Contrary to popular belief, all renters are not noisy, and/or disrespectful of their landlords' property. Everything is very nice as far as I am concerned. My only complaint...and it can be an important one for anyone who is planning to stay a while, is that as I have been told, the goal now is to sell all of the units and remove renters. If found this out in a strange way. When it was time for my lease to be renewed, I never got any kind of notice from management asking if I wanted to renew my lease. When I went down to ask about it, I found out that leases are not being renewed. Whether that is true or not, I cannot say. I only know that no one told me and I wonder when they were planning to tell me. I most likely would have gotten a notice slipped under my door stating that I would have to vacate!

I am a professional person with no problems with the bldg. and they have not had any problems with me. I only want to warn anyone who plans on renting (if that is even a possibility at this point) that you may be in transition sooner than you plan on it since renters are being phased out.

Management in tower one is horrible!!!

If you are planning on renting or owning in tower one, run!!!! The rules completely changed, so all the things you could do when you bought or signed your lease, changed for me after 2 week of living here. I spoke to an attorney who believes most of the owners are investors in other states. They are not involved in the community at all. So what we have here is a few owners who having nothing better to do but to find ways to push renters out. Renters now require a months rent to the HOA as well as the owner for a security deposit. I paid over $3000 just in security deposits to move in here. Then to find out two weeks after I moved in they decided no more pets for renters. My washing machine is broken and a new one is being delivered today. I was just told I need to pay a $500 deposit for the elevator and have to provide certificate of insurance from GE. Yet the delivery procedures I received dont state that, only if you are moving in or needing to use the elevator 3 trips or more. They do whatever they can to make it difficult for you so you move out. Its a beautiful place and I was hoping to find peace here. They dont let that happen.

Don't be fooled - the Oasis is a miserable place to live.

Thank you to previous reviewer, you're absolutely correct, the management in Tower One is horrible!!! They change the rules weekly with or without notice and most of the rules make no sense at all. For example: say you go out of town and want to offer a neighbor your assigned parking spot while you're gone,,,, for a visiting friend, visiting grandmother, whatever. Absolutely NOT, here at the Oasis. They will tow the car right out of the parking structure and won't even place a courtesy call first. I personally know of at least 10 residents in the last 6 months (yes residents, not visitors) that have had their cars towed right out of the structure and/or off the Oasis grounds. Can't imagine how many visitors they've towed.

Also, DO NOT be fooled by the new additional security deposit to the association board either. They will look you right in the face and tell you it's only a deposit but will never use the word "refundable" because, IT IS NOT. If you think I'm joking, ask them to provide you with something in writing showing it's refundable and/or describing the guidelines of the so called "deposit", you'll get nothing. It's a deposit alright, a deposit right into the board's bank account and never to be seen again by you.

In a nutshell, the Oasis is esthetically pleasing and therefore it's easy to get sucked in and excited about living. The pool is cool looking and the grounds are well kept, etc. However, I strongly encourage anyone thinking about moving into the Oasis Tower One to talk to current tenants first. The best day of renting in Tower One is the day you can finally leave. And by the way, management will not make that day easy either.

this place is not what you think

first off management a few years ago sucked, they are afraid of confrontation to the owners, they made the concierges run around like maniacs and do everything, work 12 hour days with no lunch breaks, promised benefits that they had no intentions of giving them, made them work holidays, made them work art walk with no over time, they treated staff like shit, who knows what goes on now, probably the same stuff, you cant have a decent parking spot , you get towed with out warning, you get all these promises that never happen! Hopefully new management can get there shit together! I forgot the two beautiful woman that used to work the concierge desks in tower one, but they were the best and friendliest, I felt bad for them! Tower 1 and Tower 2

I've been doing business with both renters and tenants in both buildings, as an outside person and a US VET who believes in treating people with kindness, respect and dignity, I'm amazed at the why a property management team would make the tenants, renters and vendors feel so disrespected by the dictatorship style of enforcing rules. I have heard tenants complain that elderly, handicapped relatives could not park in the visiting area, they made them park on an outside lot away from the towers. They could only get passes for one day at a time, while visiting. If I had my senior citizen father treated that way I would be so embarrassed to have him go through that. Enforcing dogs to walk thru garage parking rather then go thru the lobby (some pets are like family and who wants to risk their dog being hit by a car) not allowing vendors to carry supplies thru the front door..or unload and reload by the front in tower one. What happen to watching and being proud of seeing America go to work. What happen to common courtesies in our society. The heartless way it's being managed now is a shame. The rudeness from the management is awful and the treatment from the employees are just as harsh. The employees look miserable and they are so busy telling people what they can't do that it has become one of the coldest places to do business with... Even moving companies are sick of going in there some of them won't deal with all the ridiculous rules. I think they need kindness and a sincere customer attitude they need to serve not be cruel in their dealings and not talk so harsh to customers and vendors. Sad cold place!
