Living the Dream

I have lived in Boca Raton for nearly 30 years. It was always a dream to live across from the beach and my dream came true at the Yacht and Racquet Club. Each morning I wake up with my wife and enjoy our first cup of coffee on our terrace with beautiful ocean views. We start each day by taking in the natural sounds of the birds and the splashing of the waves. Each night, we return to the same terrace, this time with a glass of wine (or Scotch) enjoying a game of backgammon. Aside from our private beach and marina, we all celebrate our revitalized Chickee bar which is an outdoor restaurant right by the main pool and overlooking the marina. The sunsets are sensational. We have a full bar with an extensive menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. A new chef who formerly graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and beverage manager from J. Alexanders, just joined us and are now raising the bar to a new level. In addition, we have a new General Manager Saurissha Maldonado with over 25 years experience in luxury hospitality and private clubs. The community recently voted on a complete renovation of our clubhouse, fitness center and offices. Construction should begin sometime towards the end of this year. There is plenty to do here if you want to be active. Tennis, pickleball, swimming, beaching, boating, eating, drinking, theme nights, entertainment, all kinds of card play, fitness classes, book clubs and the list goes on. People here are active and enjoy community events. Of course you can't beat our location. Directly across A1A is the Atlantic Ocean and our private beach. Just to the west is our marina with direct access to the Intracoastal. Just 1/2 mile to the south is Gumbo Limbo Nature Center and just a 1/4 mile north is Spanish River Park which consists of 94 acres along the Intracoastal Waterway for picnicking, swimming & bird-watching. Each day hundreds of walkers, runners and cyclists pass by along A1A and one can't help but get energized just gazing at them. If you enjoy kite surfing, look no further. On any given windy day we see them propelling across our beach. Some of them offer private lessons. Did I mention the GoodYear blimp that passes by sometimes twice a day? YARCOBR is a warm, down to earth and friendly place to live. There is something for everyone.. beach, pools, exercise, fitness classes, tennis,pickleball and more.You can be as active or inactive as you choose. No pressure. Eating at our chickee bar is convenient and can be a nice place to hang out and meet other owners. I’ve been here 16 years and just enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the ability to make the choices to do the things that appeal to me. From the homebody to the social butterfly and everything in between.. all welcome at YARCOBR!

Untapped Treasure!

I am asked occasionally: why live at YARCOBR and not another community? YARCOBR is an untapped treasure. It houses a vibrant community of friendly people with lots of activities to undertake. Superbly located between the ocean and marina, with 4 pools, lovely apartments with great views, a casual restaurant for getting together with friends and so much more. Six days/week there are exercise classes open to all residents, a club house for events and card playing. There are several clubs (ie. book club, art club, yachtsman club) that bring joy to all of us. We are a community who likes to party; sometimes organized by The Club or privately, in season the place is buzzing.

Launched in the mid 1970’s, the Yacht and Racquet Club of Boca Raton is held in high regard by yachtsman and boating enthusiasts. The Club’s marina accommodates sport fishing crafts and yachts on a year-round or seasonal basis. Ideally situated between Palmetto Park Road and Spanish River Blvd. along A1A facing the Atlantic Ocean and bordering the Intracoastal Waterway. The Yacht and Racquet Club of Boca Raton is a “hidden gem!” It is an impressive residential resort with amenities galore. In addition to the marina, we have tennis, pickleball, a clubhouse, a library, a private beach with chair and umbrella service, manned gated access, fitness center, art room, three swimming pools, a jacuzzi, a Chickee Bar and Restaurant and many, many social activities. - YARCOBR provides residents with all the amenities one could want- a beautiful beach you can walk to, beautiful pools and hot tubs, a marina, a fitness center and exercise/fitness classes, tennis and pickle board courts, scheduled entertainment, an on site restaurant, all in a beautiful and central location off AIA. - Condo buildings and grounds are well maintained, spacious, and beautiful. Water views are stunning. - Residents are nice and helpful; many have lived there for over 20 years. - Staff is helpful; manned security gate and property and maintenance staff on site.

I’ve been living at the Yacht & Racquet club for 18 years & loved it from the start. Here I have everything I want & everything I need. I start my day walking on A1A & watching the sunrise over our beautiful beach. Our fitness classes are great with amazing instructors. Most of all we have the Chickee Bar that is open from breakfast to dinner with a wonderful menu & full bar. It’s just a great place to live !
