Decent place to live
In response to the first review, I have no idea what you are talking about. I have lived here for two years and I don't think I have ever heard anyone honk at the gate, ever. The guard will usually open the gate for you if he sees your parking tag or recognizes you. Guests need to sign in with the guard before proceeding, and they usually take down their information before opening the gate. I'll be honest, the guard will let some in without checking...but if anything, people are let in more readily than they should. They're not sitting there, honking, and getting let in. <br/><br/>The management company is difficult to deal with, but we have been happy living here.

Noisy
The residents here are such savage heathens that they see no problem honking their car horns at the gate at all hours of the night. The barbaric people honk their horns to get the security guard's attention to open the gate for them, and the security guard does this without even reprimanding them for honking within such close proximity of a private residence. Car horns close to a residence are in violation of Houston city noise ordinances. I tried talking to the security guard about it and he responded to me in a very aggressively hostile tone of voice and said I was creating problems by telling people to stop honking. Management has been notified more than three times and told me I have to handle it myself by calling the police.

A diamond in the rough
Briarwick has been a great fit for my wife and I. We moved here 2 years ago for medical school, and we have loved our condo. We live near the back of the complex, so there is no traffic or noise. The guards always wave at us as we drive in, the landscaping is always very well maintained, and our neighbors are really friendly. The location is great- we are close to the 610 and 288, but far enough away that we can't hear them at night. We looked at the neighboring complexes when we were moving, but they were out of our price range. Its amazing Briarwick doesn't charge as much as some of its neighbors, we like it just as much!

Honking does occur frequently
In response to Decent Place To Live, honking does occur quite frequently at the front gate. People honk day and night. I know because I recently moved into a unit close enough to be woken up at night by the car horns of cars sitting at the gate. I recently had a day off work and was shocked by the number of drivers I heard honk at the gate. The Houston Police Department would make a small fortune for the city if they ticketed all these drivers.
